Description

A fascinating new novel by Peter Lush.

In 1895, 22 clubs from the north of England broke away from the Rugby Union to form the Northern Union, which in 1922 became the Rugby Football League. From then on, rugby football was split into two codes, League and Union, and association football became the major winter sport.

But, supposing that instead of breaking away, the northern clubs had won a majority in 1895 and taken control of the sport.

This historical novel looks at how rugby football could have developed as a united game, with a progressive leadership, up to the start of the Second World War.

It is the memoirs of David Peterson, who was Secretary of the English Rugby Association from 1916 to 1940; but was involved in the sport from the 1880s.

This book will be of interest to rugby fans of both codes.
